Georges Bizet

This is a photo of Georges Bizet's grave I took when visiting Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris in April 2012. The grave is much smaller and simpler than the ones surrounding it and was apparently donated by Bizet's family and friends. He died at the age of 36, shortly after the premiere of "Carmen". If one listens to that opera or even just to early arias of his like "Au fond du temple saint", one can't help but wonder what music he would have composed if only he had lived longer. And yes, this is a post about Miley Cyrus.
